{"id":956,"date":"2010-06-08T17:11:21","date_gmt":"2010-06-08T17:11:21","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-14T22:36:55","modified_gmt":"2017-12-14T22:36:55","slug":"installed-spark-plug-wire-clam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2010\/06\/08\/installed-spark-plug-wire-clam\/","title":{"rendered":"Installed Spark Plug Wire Clamps and Forward Elevator Pushrod"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I ordered some one and two wire spark plug wire adel clamps from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacskyranch.com\/\">Sacramento Sky Ranch<\/a>. \u00a0The order came in today, so I installed some of them on the cylinders. \u00a0These are stainless steel with silicone cushions that are good to 400\u00baF.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100608\/CIMG1656.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1656.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>The forward cylinders get one wire clamps.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100608\/CIMG1657.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1657.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>The aft cylinders get two wire clamps. \u00a0These are sweet because they&#8217;re formed to clamp two wires instead of something cylindrical like typical adel clamps. \u00a0I picked up a few more of the two wire clamps to anchor the spark plug wires the rest of the way to the magneto.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100608\/CIMG1658.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1658.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>I also cut down the rear spar a little bit where the forward elevator pushrod passes through. \u00a0The cutter got away from me a little bit and widened the hole as well on the right side. \u00a0I put a little self-etching primer on the cut edges.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100608\/CIMG1659.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1659.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>I then temporarily installed bolts in each end to check the fit. \u00a0There is almost 1\/4&#8243; of clearance where the pushrod passes through the rear spar cutout. \u00a0Even under high g loads, the pushrod shouldn&#8217;t be able to flex enough to contact the spar. \u00a0This is the rear end where the forward pushrod attaches to the elevator bellcrank.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100608\/CIMG1660.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1660.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>This is where the forward end attaches to the center control column.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100608\/CIMG1661.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1661.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I ordered some one and two wire spark plug wire adel clamps from Sacramento Sky Ranch. \u00a0The order came in today, so I installed some of them on the cylinders. \u00a0These are stainless steel with silicone cushions that are good to 400\u00baF.
