{"id":935,"date":"2010-07-12T17:11:20","date_gmt":"2010-07-12T17:11:20","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-05T07:16:08","modified_gmt":"2017-12-05T07:16:08","slug":"finished-cabin-frame-attach-an","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2010\/07\/12\/finished-cabin-frame-attach-an\/","title":{"rendered":"Finished Cabin Frame Attach Angles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I finished trimming the cabin frame attach angles so that they&#8217;re flush with the sides of the fuselage. \u00a0I alternated between using the vixen file and the disc sander, then finished up with the scotchbrite wheel.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100712\/IMG_8708.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_8708.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here you can see how the aft top skin lays flush against the side of the angle.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100712\/IMG_8709.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_8709.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the cabin frame clamped as low as it can currently go. \u00a0It&#8217;s still about 3\/16&#8243; of an inch high right now, but I actually want it to end up a little high so I can get more headroom. \u00a0One of the engineers at Van&#8217;s said the cabin frame could be moved up at least 1\/4&#8243; without any problems. \u00a0I want to double check this before permanently mounting the cabin frame though.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100712\/IMG_8710.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_8710.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here you can see that the side skin is perfectly aligned with the cabin frame (both angle and longitudinal position).<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100712\/IMG_8711.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_8711.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I also installed the cabin frame brace to correctly position the cabin frame. \u00a0It&#8217;s clecoed in the back, but only clamped in the front. \u00a0I don&#8217;t want to drill this until I&#8217;m sure of the position.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100712\/IMG_8712.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_8712.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I finished trimming the cabin frame attach angles so that they&#8217;re flush with the sides of the fuselage. \u00a0I alternated between using the vixen file and the disc sander, then finished up with the scotchbrite wheel.
