{"id":862,"date":"2011-02-15T17:07:56","date_gmt":"2011-02-15T17:07:56","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-08T02:32:52","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T02:32:52","slug":"powder-coated-tailwheel-compon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2011\/02\/15\/powder-coated-tailwheel-compon\/","title":{"rendered":"Powder Coated Tailwheel Components and Fuel Tank Brackets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I stopped by my buddy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.corbinstreehouse.com\/\">Corbin&#8217;s<\/a> house to use his large powder coating oven. \u00a0We powder coated all of the tailwheel components as well as the fuel tank brackets that mount to the fuselage.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110216\/IMG_9050.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9050.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The powder coat looked perfect on every part except for the weldment that ties the tailwheel bracket to the spring. \u00a0Our guess is that they used some oil or other lubrication when press fitting the brass bushing into the steel weldment. \u00a0This oil ran out during baking and caused the finish to fail. \u00a0I&#8217;m going to clean this off and try again.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110216\/IMG_9051.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9051.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I stopped by my buddy Corbin&#8217;s house to use his large powder coating oven. \u00a0We powder coated all of the tailwheel components as well as the fuel tank brackets that mount to the fuselage.
