{"id":824,"date":"2011-04-05T17:07:56","date_gmt":"2011-04-05T17:07:56","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-08T04:52:48","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T04:52:48","slug":"installed-fuel-flow-sensor-and","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2011\/04\/05\/installed-fuel-flow-sensor-and\/","title":{"rendered":"Installed Fuel Flow Sensor and Worked on EGT\/CHT Wiring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I removed the fast-on tabs from the wires on the fuel flow sensor and installed some knife connectors.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110405\/IMG_9325.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9325.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I then installed the short fuel line between the fuel servo and the fuel flow sensor. \u00a0If you want to duplicate my setup, you&#8217;ll need a 2.75&#8243; seat-to-seat hose with 1\/4&#8243; straight-to-straight connectors and firesleeve.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110405\/IMG_9328.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9328.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The output side of the sensor has an identical fuel line, but 9.75&#8243; seat-to-seat. \u00a0It&#8217;s a little hard to tell from this picture, but there&#8217;s quite a lot of clearance all around the sensor. \u00a0It&#8217;s only about 3&#8243; from the #1 exhaust pipe though. \u00a0The alternator wire is a little closer even. \u00a0I&#8217;ll put a long heat shield along this section of the exhaust pipe to reduce radiated heat to these components.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110405\/IMG_9329.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9329.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here you can see how the fuel hose makes a straight run up to the spider from there.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110405\/IMG_9330.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9330.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I then reinstalled the inter-cylinder baffle retaining clamp (which was a pain in the ass).<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110405\/IMG_9334.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9334.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m also using the knife connectors to connect the EGT\/CHT wires to the EMS harness. \u00a0I got through part of the connectors on the right side tonight.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110405\/IMG_9331.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9331.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a closeup of the #1 and #3 EGT connections.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110405\/IMG_9332.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9332.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The knife connectors interlock and form a connection that can&#8217;t vibrate apart even under tension. \u00a0I&#8217;ll put sections of heat shrink over all of these connections before finishing off the wiring bundle.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110405\/IMG_9333.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9333.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I removed the fast-on tabs from the wires on the fuel flow sensor and installed some knife connectors.
