{"id":810,"date":"2011-04-23T17:07:56","date_gmt":"2011-04-23T17:07:56","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-08T06:13:09","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T06:13:09","slug":"wiring-voltage-regulator-and-s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2011\/04\/23\/wiring-voltage-regulator-and-s\/","title":{"rendered":"Wiring Voltage Regulator and SkyView"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wired up the voltage regulator (except for the wire going to the annunciator control circuit for the low voltage light).<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110423\/IMG_9409.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9409.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The two power lines (red) are connected to separate pins on the VP-X. \u00a0The larger (18AWG) wire on the top provides power for the alternator field. \u00a0The voltage regulator takes power from this wire and sends it out the white wire to regulate the alternator.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110423\/IMG_9410.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9410.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I installed the second SkyView battery on the right side in the same spot as the one on the left.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110423\/IMG_9411.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9411.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I also laid out when the radios will penetrate the subpanel, then installed the custom circuits on either side of that. \u00a0The IC-25 Bus is on the left and the AN-1 Annunciator Control circuit is on the right.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110423\/IMG_9412.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9412.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I fabricated 1\/4&#8243; aluminum spacers to keep the back of the circuits from contacting the subpanel.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110423\/IMG_9415.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9415.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I measured where the SkyView connectors will sit on the back of the panel and taped them in place so that I could start wiring them.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110423\/IMG_9417.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9417.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I separated out all of the wires and labeled them.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110423\/IMG_9418.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9418.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>All of the wires from the right SkyView display that need to connect to the bus will reach across the panel. \u00a0They will need to be run across the top of the audio panel and through the two panel support ribs. \u00a0I can&#8217;t run any of these now since I don&#8217;t have the radio stack yet.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110423\/IMG_9420.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9420.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wired up the voltage regulator (except for the wire going to the annunciator control circuit for the low voltage light).
