{"id":778,"date":"2011-06-22T17:04:31","date_gmt":"2011-06-22T17:04:31","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-08T07:59:12","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T07:59:12","slug":"sealed-firewall-recess-and-sta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2011\/06\/22\/sealed-firewall-recess-and-sta\/","title":{"rendered":"Sealed Firewall Recess and Started Modifying Axle Nuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I used some 3M FireBarrier 2000+ to seal the openings around the firewall recess so that I can finish off attaching things to the firewall.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110622\/IMG_9544.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9544.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>While waiting for that to dry, I started modifying the axle nuts for the Avery Tools jack stand brackets. \u00a0I drilled the nutplate out from the end of the nuts and then drilled a 1&#8243; hole in the end of each nut using a 1&#8243; hole saw.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110622\/IMG_9547.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9547.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The bracket will get installed over the end of the nut and the nutplate will be reinstalled on the bracket. \u00a0A groove will need to be filed in each nut so that this bracket will be flush with the end, but this will wait until I&#8217;ve drilled the axles to the nuts so that I can install these brackets parallel with the ground. \u00a0This will make it easier to reach the screws on each side so that I can take the bracket off when jacking up the axle.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110622\/IMG_9548.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9548.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I used some 3M FireBarrier 2000+ to seal the openings around the firewall recess so that I can finish off attaching things to the firewall.
