{"id":760,"date":"2011-07-31T17:04:30","date_gmt":"2011-07-31T17:04:30","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-09T06:25:45","modified_gmt":"2017-12-09T06:25:45","slug":"more-cowl-work-and-pitotstatic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2011\/07\/31\/more-cowl-work-and-pitotstatic\/","title":{"rendered":"More Cowl Work and Pitot\/Static\/AOA Plumbing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I spent a little time earlier today working on the cowl. \u00a0I made the side cuts, then did a bunch more sanding to get the fit as nice as I can.<\/p>\n<p>Afterward, I decided to do the pitot\/static\/AOA plumbing. \u00a0This is where the pitot (green) and AOA (blue) lines will go into the fuselage. \u00a0The lines from the wings will connect to these connectors.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110731\/IMG_9591.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9591.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The pitot and AOA lines run forward of the spar and then across the fuselage.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110731\/IMG_9592.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9592.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>They then run back through the spar along with the static tube (white). \u00a0This may seem like a somewhat circuitous route, but the left under-seat conduit is pretty full, so I needed to run the lines through the right under-seat conduit. \u00a0Unfortunately, there&#8217;s no good path across the fuselage aft of the spar for lines this large. \u00a0I could have drilled more holes in the seat ribs and installed snap bushings, but that&#8217;s a real pain in the ass at this stage of construction.<\/p>\n<p>The pitot and static lines needs to run up to the instrument panel to connect to the backup EFIS and alt static valve.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110731\/IMG_9593.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9593.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The lines come out of the right under-seat conduit and then run up the center post.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110731\/IMG_9594.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9594.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The lines cut through a hole in the post and then join the network cable in the run up to the ADAHRS.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110731\/IMG_9595.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9595.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The pitot and AOA lines connect directly to the ADAHRS. \u00a0The static line connects to a tee to join the aft tailcone run to the forward fuselage run.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110731\/IMG_9596.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9596.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I spent a little time earlier today working on the cowl. \u00a0I made the side cuts, then did a bunch more sanding to get the fit as nice as I can.
