{"id":738,"date":"2011-09-09T17:04:30","date_gmt":"2011-09-09T17:04:30","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-09T06:58:02","modified_gmt":"2017-12-09T06:58:02","slug":"finished-tailcone-wiring-for-r","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2011\/09\/09\/finished-tailcone-wiring-for-r\/","title":{"rendered":"Finished Tailcone Wiring (For Reals)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I thought I finished all of the tailcone wiring a couple of weeks ago, but I had forgotten about the OAT probe and ELT antenna cable. \u00a0I drilled a new hole in the vertical rib for the antenna cable to avoid too tight of a bend radius.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110909\/IMG_9680.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9680.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>On the right side of the fuselage, the cable follows the tubing run and then jumps over to the tailcone wire bundle and follows it into the conduit.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110909\/IMG_9682.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9682.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I also installed a couple of adel clamps under the seat. \u00a0This one supports the wires and tubing as they come out of the front end of the right conduit.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110909\/IMG_9683.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9683.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I installed another one on the other side of the same rib to keep the tubing from interfering with the aileron pushrods.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110909\/IMG_9684.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9684.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I also installed a couple of zip-tie bases in the aft flap cover to support the flap motor and position sensor wires. \u00a0There are not installed permanently right now, but I wanted to anchor them so that I could determine the final wire length.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110909\/IMG_9686.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9686.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Finally, I recreated my upper left switch layout with some scrap aluminum to make sure I was happy with the spacing. \u00a0I spent a few minutes playing with it and I think it&#8217;s perfect. \u00a0The spacing I settled on was 1 1\/4&#8243; horizontally and 1 9\/16&#8243; vertically.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20110909\/IMG_9688.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9688.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I thought I finished all of the tailcone wiring a couple of weeks ago, but I had forgotten about the OAT probe and ELT antenna cable. \u00a0I drilled a new hole in the vertical rib for the antenna cable to avoid too tight of a bend radius.
