{"id":719,"date":"2011-10-03T17:04:30","date_gmt":"2011-10-03T17:04:30","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-10T16:25:17","modified_gmt":"2017-12-10T16:25:17","slug":"cleaned-out-the-garage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2011\/10\/03\/cleaned-out-the-garage\/","title":{"rendered":"Cleaned Out the Garage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been a long time since the garage was cleaned out thoroughly, so I pulled the plane out into the driveway and gave everything a good once over.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20111002\/IMG_9799.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9799.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>After pulling the plane back in the garage, I started wiring up the starter switch. \u00a0I installed all of the wires in the back of the switch, but haven&#8217;t hooked any of them up to anything. \u00a0The two red wires will be hooked to the starter switch pin on the VP-X which is only enabled when the engine isn&#8217;t running. \u00a0The black wire is the ground wire for the internal light. \u00a0The white wire with the red stripe is the switched power wire to the starter contactor. \u00a0The VP-X manual calls for a 18AWG wire for the starter, but the starter only pulls about 3.6A. \u00a0Given how little time these wires are asked to carry that current, the temperature rise in a 22AWG wire is just fine, so that is what I used.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20111002\/IMG_9800.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9800.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has been a long time since the garage was cleaned out thoroughly, so I pulled the plane out into the driveway and gave everything a good once over.
