{"id":708,"date":"2011-10-22T17:04:29","date_gmt":"2011-10-22T17:04:29","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-10T16:50:32","modified_gmt":"2017-12-10T16:50:32","slug":"worked-on-interior-lights-and","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2011\/10\/22\/worked-on-interior-lights-and\/","title":{"rendered":"Worked on Interior Lights and Seat Heaters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wanted to make some more progress on the interior lights, but I first needed to determine if I have to shorten the LED light strip that will illuminate the glare shield. \u00a0Although the light strip is shorter than the edge of the glare shield, I wanted to make sure the end lights weren&#8217;t visible since the glare shield curves down on each end. \u00a0In order to determine that though, I needed to install the glare shield trim. \u00a0I determined the centerline and clamped the template in place to mark the holes.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20111022\/IMG_9847.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9847.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I then drilled the holes and mounted the glare shield trim. \u00a0This is padded and has a nice french seam on the facing edge. \u00a0I then sat in the plane to determine if the trim will hide all of the lights in the LED light strip. \u00a0Fortunately, it does and I can go ahead and install it.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20111022\/IMG_9848.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9848.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I determined the centerline of the light strip and then adhered it in place. \u00a0I&#8217;ll paint these mounting screws to match the surrounding surface before installing the trim permanently.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20111022\/IMG_9849.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9849.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>On the left end of the light strip, I installed some nylon sleeving and heat shrink tubing and then tucked it behind the brace.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20111022\/IMG_9850.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9850.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I used some E6000 to adhere the cable in the channel. \u00a0The cable will exit the canopy through a hole in the brace that I need to drill.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20111022\/IMG_9852.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9852.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I used some popsicle sticks and tape to hold the cable down in the channel while the E6000 cures. \u00a0I&#8217;ll finish routing the wire after that.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20111022\/IMG_9853.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_9853.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I decided to get back to the seat heater wiring. \u00a0I need the cables coming from the seats to be easily removable whenever the seats are removed.
