{"id":603,"date":"2012-04-25T17:00:58","date_gmt":"2012-04-25T17:00:58","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-12T05:29:18","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T05:29:18","slug":"cabinpanel-area-riveting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2012\/04\/25\/cabinpanel-area-riveting\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabin\/Panel Area Riveting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I came out before work this morning and riveted the outer subpanel sections to the side bulkheads and the ribs.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120425\/IMG_0330.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0330.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I was able to use the straight set to shoot solid rivets in all of the holes tying these to the bulkheads.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120425\/IMG_0331.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0331.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The side subpanel sections are riveted to the forward ribs using only two flush head rivets to provide a flat space for the hinge bushing block to be installed.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120425\/IMG_0332.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0332.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Andre dropped by in the evening and we knocked out the forward and aft canopy decks. \u00a0There were only a few challenging rivets where there isn&#8217;t much room to buck, but we managed to get solid rivets in every hole without too much pain. \u00a0You can see on the other side that we also riveted the fresh air vent brackets to the side of the fuselage.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120425\/IMG_0333.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0333.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>We also riveted the armrests. \u00a0There&#8217;s still some give to these, so I don&#8217;t want passengers to push down on them when getting out of the plane, but they&#8217;re <b>way<\/b>\u00a0stronger than the stock Van&#8217;s design.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120425\/IMG_0334.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0334.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>After Andre left, I finished pop-riveting the F-704 cap strips in place.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120425\/IMG_0335.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0335.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I came out before work this morning and riveted the outer subpanel sections to the side bulkheads and the ribs.
