{"id":601,"date":"2012-05-06T17:00:58","date_gmt":"2012-05-06T17:00:58","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-12T05:48:19","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T05:48:19","slug":"painted-interior","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2012\/05\/06\/painted-interior\/","title":{"rendered":"Painted Interior"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I added a small bracket to the right canopy deck between the panel and subpanel. \u00a0This will hold a cigarette lighter socket that can be used to charge devices. \u00a0I picked up a dual USB plug that I&#8217;ll likely leave in this most of the time. \u00a0This was really the only place I could find behind the panel that isn&#8217;t blocked by something.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120506\/IMG_0341.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0341.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I primed all of the flap cover pieces. \u00a0On the right is the flap motor wrapped up with paper towels. \u00a0I primed the head of the bolt that will be visible on the outside of the flap motor support. \u00a0On the far right is a piece of cardboard with a couple of #6 screws that are used to attach the flap position sensor. \u00a0I&#8217;m painting them as well so they blend in.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120506\/IMG_0342.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0342.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I masked off the interior and primed everything that will be painted. \u00a0I&#8217;m only painting the parts that won&#8217;t be covered by the Classic Aero Designs interior.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120506\/IMG_0343.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0343.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The canopy decks were primed up to the subpanel.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120506\/IMG_0344.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0344.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>After that dried for a few hours, I painted everything with some paint that I had color matched to the leather used in the upholstery.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120506\/IMG_0345.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0345.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>You can see here that I also painted the canopy latch torque tube since it&#8217;s visible between the seats and when the seat backs are pulled forward.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120506\/IMG_0346.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0346.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I put four coats of paint on (as specified by Stewart Systems). \u00a0This seems like a lot, but the first coat is a translucent tack coat with two more fairly light coats before the final heavier coat. \u00a0This greatly reduces runs since the early coats are very sticky.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120506\/IMG_0347.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0347.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I added a small bracket to the right canopy deck between the panel and subpanel. \u00a0This will hold a cigarette lighter socket that can be used to charge devices. \u00a0I picked up a dual USB plug that I&#8217;ll likely leave in this most of the time. \u00a0This was really the only place I could find &hellip;
