{"id":592,"date":"2012-06-02T17:00:57","date_gmt":"2012-06-02T17:00:57","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-12T06:03:46","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T06:03:46","slug":"prepped-instrument-panel-for-p","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2012\/06\/02\/prepped-instrument-panel-for-p\/","title":{"rendered":"Prepped Instrument Panel for Paint"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m working seven days a week now, but I took a break in the evening to work on the plane a bit.<\/p>\n<p>My pneumatic squeezer&#8217;s adjustable set holder snapped at the base of the threaded section. \u00a0I&#8217;m going to call Isham and see if I can get this replaced as this shouldn&#8217;t have happened.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120602\/IMG_0382.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0382.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>I drilled and countersunk the holes for the TruTrak Gemini PFD. \u00a0I&#8217;m still waiting on this from TruTrak, but I&#8217;m hoping it will ship soon.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120602\/IMG_0383.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0383.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>I also countersunk all of the reinforcement angle rivet holes. \u00a0You can also see at the bottom of the picture that I countersunk the panel attach holes.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120602\/IMG_0384.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0384.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>I also countersunk the holes that will attach the hobbs meter and ELT remote. \u00a0I&#8217;m trying to use all flush head screws across the panel. \u00a0I&#8217;m still looking for the right screws to attach the USB jacks though.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120602\/IMG_0385.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0385.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>There were a couple of extra holes in the panel that were intended to attach the crappy Van&#8217;s plastic air vents. \u00a0I filled them with AN426AD5-4 rivets.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120602\/IMG_0386.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0386.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>Finally, I prepped and riveted the reinforcement angle to the top of the panel.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120602\/IMG_0388.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0388.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>The reinforcement angle needed a few relief cuts to clear some of the components that are near the edges. \u00a0This relief cut is to clear the alternate static port switch.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120602\/IMG_0389.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0389.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>These relief cuts are to clear the ears on the annunciator lights bracket.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120602\/IMG_0390.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0390.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center>Finally, this notch is to clear the ELT remote.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20120602\/IMG_0391.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0391.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m working seven days a week now, but I took a break in the evening to work on the plane a bit.
