{"id":448,"date":"2013-09-06T16:54:05","date_gmt":"2013-09-06T16:54:05","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-13T01:49:03","modified_gmt":"2017-12-13T01:49:03","slug":"additional-fitting-of-empennag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2013\/09\/06\/additional-fitting-of-empennag\/","title":{"rendered":"Additional Fitting of Empennage Fairing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I added a couple more nutplates at the aft end of the empennage fairing.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20130906\/IMG_0929.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0929.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The lower one is through the fuselage side aft of the vertical stabilizer rear spar. \u00a0The screw just barely clears the spar flange and setting these rivets was a little tricky. \u00a0I double checked, and this easily clears the rudder in all positions. \u00a0The plans specify\u00a0MS24693C28, but they&#8217;re clearly too long for most positions. \u00a0I&#8217;ll probably replace most of them with\u00a0MS24693C27 or even\u00a0MS24693C26.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20130906\/IMG_0930.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0930.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Finally, I trimmed the aft end of the fairing so that it&#8217;s flush with the vertical stabilizer and fuselage. \u00a0I may end up having to trim the vertical stabilizer and fuselage a bit for rudder clearance, so this may need to be trimmed further.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20130906\/IMG_0931.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_0931.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I added a couple more nutplates at the aft end of the empennage fairing.
