{"id":393,"date":"2013-12-28T16:54:04","date_gmt":"2013-12-28T16:54:04","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-14T19:01:47","modified_gmt":"2017-12-14T19:01:47","slug":"gopro-camera-mount-canopy-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2013\/12\/28\/gopro-camera-mount-canopy-fair\/","title":{"rendered":"GoPro Camera Mount, Canopy Fairing, Reversed Vacuum Valve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I added a couple of rivnuts in the bottom of the roll bar, spaced for a RAM diamond mount (RAP-B-238).<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20131228\/IMG_1174.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_1174.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the GoPro mounted. \u00a0It&#8217;s just to the right of the center line to clear the canopy latch. \u00a0You can also see the live preview on my phone. \u00a0I can capture the entire instrument panel, the sides of both people&#8217;s heads and a great view outside.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20131228\/IMG_1178.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_1178.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I mixed up some filler and applied a layer to the fairing and shaped it with a piece of aluminum that I cut to match the curve of the sanding block I&#8217;m using.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20131228\/IMG_1182.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_1182.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>While I had some filler mixed up, I added a little more to the sides of the upper cowling to match the curve of the fuselage.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20131228\/IMG_1179.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_1179.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the other side. \u00a0I&#8217;ll sand this completely flush tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20131228\/IMG_1181.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_1181.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>One of the readers of my site noticed that I had mounted the air\/oil separator&#8217;s vacuum valve backward. Fortunately, there was room to turn the valve around without interfering with anything.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20131228\/IMG_1183.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_1183.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I zip-tied the breather tube to the fuel line and oil line to keep it from rubbing.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20131228\/IMG_1184.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_1184.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The breather line nicely clears the firewall, oil filter and prop governor bracket.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20131228\/IMG_1185.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_1185.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m no longer using the nutplate on the firewall that used to secure the breather line, so I filled it with an AN525-10R6 screw to keep the firewall sealed.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20131228\/IMG_1186.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_1186.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I added a couple of rivnuts in the bottom of the roll bar, spaced for a RAM diamond mount (RAP-B-238).
