{"id":1210,"date":"2009-07-21T17:21:35","date_gmt":"2009-07-21T17:21:35","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-14T22:22:52","modified_gmt":"2017-12-14T22:22:52","slug":"installed-end-ribs-and-interio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2009\/07\/21\/installed-end-ribs-and-interio\/","title":{"rendered":"Installed End Ribs and Interior Components"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got three of the four end ribs installed today. \u00a0First up are the outboard ribs. \u00a0These are pretty simple since they don&#8217;t\u00a0interfere\u00a0with any of the interior components and all of the rivets can be squeezed.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20090721\/CIMG0437.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0437.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\nNext up is to install the inboard ribs. \u00a0After that, the fuel return and vent line can be torqued down. \u00a0The wire from the BNC connector is then routed along the vent line to the second bay where it will connect with the inboard sender plate. \u00a0Finally, the flop tube can be installed.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20090721\/CIMG0441.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0441.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\nHere is the nut that holds on the flop tube fitting. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t get a picture of it before installing the flop tube, but I also installed this fuel tank attach bracket and the reinforcing plate on the other side with six 1\/8&#8243; universal rivets. \u00a0I probably overdid it on the sealant here, but I&#8217;d rather be safe than sorry when it comes to sealing the tanks.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20090721\/CIMG0442.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0442.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\nNow that the vent line is in its final location, I used some sealant to cover the wire terminal and to secure the wire to the vent line.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20090721\/CIMG0439.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0439.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\nThe wires from the BNC connector and the outboard sender plate come together in the second bay and are screwed to the inboard sender plate. \u00a0I&#8217;ll use some sealant to cover these terminals and secure the wires from moving.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20090721\/CIMG0440.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0440.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\nAlso, now that the vent line is in its final position, the end of the vent line can be bent up to the highest point in the tank. \u00a0This will allow the tank to hold the maximum amount of fuel possible before fuel starts draining out of the vent lines. \u00a0The vent lines will have a high point\u00a0in the fuselage\u00a0that is above this point to keep fuel from flowing overboard even if it gets into the vent line unless there is significant fuel expansion.<\/p>\n<p><center><a style=\"text-decoration: none;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20090721\/CIMG0438.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0438.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got three of the four end ribs installed today. \u00a0First up are the outboard ribs. \u00a0These are pretty simple since they don&#8217;t\u00a0interfere\u00a0with any of the interior components and all of the rivets can be squeezed.
