{"id":1081,"date":"2010-01-05T17:14:49","date_gmt":"2010-01-05T17:14:49","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-04T05:21:30","modified_gmt":"2017-12-04T05:21:30","slug":"joined-center-and-aft-fuselage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2010\/01\/05\/joined-center-and-aft-fuselage\/","title":{"rendered":"Joined Center and Aft Fuselage Sections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After rearranging some things in the garage, Jenn came out and gave me a hand joining the center and aft fuselage sections. \u00a0I ended up having to remove the baggage floors in order to be able to coerce part of the bottom flange of the baggage ribs to fit over the F-706 bulkhead. \u00a0Do yourself a favor and just leave the baggage floors out until you get the bottom skins clecoed together.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100106\/CIMG0955.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0955.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here is what it looks like underneath. \u00a0The baggage ribs also cleco to F-706.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100106\/CIMG0956.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0956.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>It looks like I nailed the downward bends in the longerons. \u00a0They perfectly follow the angle on F-704.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100106\/CIMG0957.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0957.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The front edge matches up perfectly.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100106\/CIMG0958.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0958.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the other side showing how accurate these bends ended up.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100106\/CIMG0959.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0959.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>It was very late (after 12:30 am), but I just had to cleco on the side skins to get a feel for how big this thing it. \u00a0I ended up having to remove the shim under the tail to get the holes to pull in to alignment, but now everything fits perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m starting to have serious space problems in my garage. \u00a0I&#8217;m going to have to move my benches around just to be able to walk from one side of this to the other. \u00a0Fortunately, my next door neighbor offered to let me store my wings in his garage (tied up to the rafters), so that will free up a ton of space.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100106\/CIMG0960.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG0960.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After rearranging some things in the garage, Jenn came out and gave me a hand joining the center and aft fuselage sections. \u00a0I ended up having to remove the baggage floors in order to be able to coerce part of the bottom flange of the baggage ribs to fit over the F-706 bulkhead. \u00a0Do yourself &hellip;
