{"id":1072,"date":"2010-01-16T17:14:49","date_gmt":"2010-01-16T17:14:49","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-04T05:37:05","modified_gmt":"2017-12-04T05:37:05","slug":"20100116","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2010\/01\/16\/20100116\/","title":{"rendered":"Fit Forward Bulkheads and Gear Attach Webs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The F-902 bulkheads need some tooling holes enlarged to 5\/8&#8243; for the rudder cables. \u00a0The aft flange also needs to be relieved so that it won&#8217;t interfere with the cable. \u00a0I also fluted the outside flange to bring the holes in line.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100116\/CIMG1030.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1030.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Nutplates are attached to the aft side of the bulkhead so that the fuel vent line can be attached with adel clamps.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100116\/CIMG1031.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1031.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Here is the right side clecoed in place. \u00a0Don&#8217;t bother at this point, I had to remove it to get the gear attach web in place.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100116\/CIMG1032.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1032.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I fit some 0.040&#8243; thick scrap (the blue piece at the top) in place to correctly space the lower longeron away from the side skin. \u00a0I then clamped everything tightly together and drilled the gear attach web to the F-902 bulkhead.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100116\/CIMG1033.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1033.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Now that the bulkhead is positioned correctly, the bottom flange can be drilled to the lower longeron.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100116\/CIMG1034.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1034.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The upper flange can also be drilled to the upper longeron.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100116\/CIMG1035.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1035.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I then repeated the steps on the right side.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100116\/CIMG1036.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1036.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The F-902 bulkheads need some tooling holes enlarged to 5\/8&#8243; for the rudder cables. \u00a0The aft flange also needs to be relieved so that it won&#8217;t interfere with the cable. \u00a0I also fluted the outside flange to bring the holes in line.
