{"id":1052,"date":"2010-02-08T17:14:49","date_gmt":"2010-02-08T17:14:49","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-04T06:07:02","modified_gmt":"2017-12-04T06:07:02","slug":"started-fuselage-reassembly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2010\/02\/08\/started-fuselage-reassembly\/","title":{"rendered":"Started Fuselage Reassembly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I finished deburring the forward bottom skin and dimpled all of the required holes. \u00a0Be sure and skip the two #30 holes on the aft end of the sides since those are riveted with AN470 rivets.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100208\/CIMG1114.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1114.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Since I&#8217;m building a tail dragger, there are two holes that need to just be filled with AN426AD3-3 rivets. \u00a0These are used as the pilot holes for the brake lines on the A models.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100208\/CIMG1115.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1115.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The F-684 gussets can be riveted to the side firewall stiffeners now. \u00a0The remaining holes are also shared with the lower aux longeron and the side skin, so they&#8217;re left open for now. \u00a0Where possible, I&#8217;m trying to put the manufactured heads where they will show in the cabin since I think it looks nicer.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100208\/CIMG1116.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1116.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The F-7101 gear webs can be riveted to the F-902 forward bulkheads since access would be difficult later.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100208\/CIMG1117.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1117.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I still need to debur the side skins, but I wanted to start assembling the forward fuselage so that I didn&#8217;t have such a big pile of small parts stacked around and in my way. \u00a0Here I&#8217;ve clecoed on the firewall and all aux longerons. \u00a0Notice the missing longeron on the near side. \u00a0This is the piece that had the crack from a couple of weeks back. \u00a0I have the new piece, but I want to put the side skin back on in order to drill it.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100209\/CIMG1118.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1118.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I went ahead and riveted the F-902 bulkheads to the lower longerons. \u00a0The corresponding holes tying the F-902 to the upper longerons need to be left open until the forward top structure is drilled.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100209\/CIMG1119.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1119.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The center floor stiffeners can be riveted to the cover support ribs. \u00a0I couldn&#8217;t reach the aft holes with the squeezer, so I&#8217;ll have to shoot those. \u00a0It&#8217;s too late to run the gun tonight though, so that will have to wait until later.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100209\/CIMG1120.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1120.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I also squeezed the rivets attaching the center floor stiffeners to the F-601-J angles.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100209\/CIMG1121.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1121.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I finished deburring the forward bottom skin and dimpled all of the required holes. \u00a0Be sure and skip the two #30 holes on the aft end of the sides since those are riveted with AN470 rivets.
