{"id":1041,"date":"2010-02-23T17:14:49","date_gmt":"2010-02-23T17:14:49","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2017-12-04T06:37:05","modified_gmt":"2017-12-04T06:37:05","slug":"finished-f757-plate-and-most-o","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/2010\/02\/23\/finished-f757-plate-and-most-o\/","title":{"rendered":"Finished F-757 Plate and Most of Tailcone Rivets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I finished the left F-757 plate and drilled it to the F-705 channel and longeron.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100223\/CIMG1216.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1216.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>There were two holes in the aft fuselage that I couldn&#8217;t dimple earlier because I inadvertently riveted too far up F-711. \u00a0The vertical bars prevent getting a squeezer aligned with these holes, so I needed to get creative. \u00a0Since the longeron is already dimpled and thick enough not to flex, I could just use the male portion of the die to form the dimple. \u00a0Since the vertical bars prevent clamping directly, I used a scrap piece of angle and some clamps to either side to drive the male dimple die flush with the skin. \u00a0This worked perfectly, and a rivet sits completely flush in the hole.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100223\/CIMG1217.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1217.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I managed to squeeze all of the remaining holes with the exception of the upper two holes in the forward flange of F-711. \u00a0I&#8217;ll have to shoot these, but it&#8217;s too late to run the rivet gun tonight.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/rv7pictures\/Originals\/20100224\/CIMG1218.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/jasonbeaver.com\/rv7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CIMG1218.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I finished the left F-757 plate and drilled it to the F-705 channel and longeron.
