Each player has a white ball that will be his cue ball when he is shooting; one of those balls is all white, the other is a spotted white ball. So one player will be "white" and the other player will be "spot." (You'll want to play "white" to avoid any canine implications.) The third ball is red.

Every time your cue ball contacts the red ball and the other white ball on the same shot, you score a "count." The first one to, say, 60 counts is the winner. To cheat: Crotch the balls -- that is, get the two object balls frozen together in one of the corners of the table. You can then repeatedly bang your cue ball off the two object balls, without moving them, and run off 60 straight points easy.
